I have to add a vote for jEdit also. Its cross-platform nature is what makes me love it. I use it on Linux, Mac, Solaris and Windows. And the FTP plugin makes it simple to work on remote documents from your platform of choice. Thanks for the great roundup.

  Yet another vote for JEdit... now if someone could just figure out how to integrated the FTP plugin for JEdit with my keychain I'd have everything in the entire world I need... well almost.
