I've been using a great solution for this, for a long while, it's called Photo Retriever.

It's a symbian app server on the phone and a connection program on the mac.
It connects, transfers the pictures, (clears the phone, if you want) , thwem imports to iPhoto - simple.
I've had it running on both a 3650 & a 6600 - Symbian 6.0
