One thing I think can help keep you Mac safe is to get a computer bag that doesn't look like a computer bag. You know some just stand out as sore thumbs and scream "here is an expensive computer for you to steal". I have a Timbuk2 Messenger bag for my PB 15inch and it looks like most other bags that people have today so it's not so obvious what it is.
