I am not sure what is meant by teaser title for this article. IMHO, it is inaccurate and needs to be changed. There is no reason to "avoid tripwires with non-Apple vs Apple installers" and for security, bugs, and accuracy of the file system, you want to manage as much of the file system as possible. And to properly manage & secure the file system you need to setup a tripwire with tools like radmind <http://www.radmind.org>
