Great article. I would also suggest taking a look at Tangosol's Coherence clustered caching and data management product. Coherence enables concurrent access to in-memory caches across the application cluster. Data is managed in-memory in one of two ways either replicated or partitioned, and is both fault-tolerant and highly available.
