I have used this technique and it works, but there's one problem that I have rectified. For example if you want to rollover the background image of a text link and not actually using an image within the hyperlink, it won't work properly in mozilla and netscape but now I have find a way round it and it works both in IE, Mozilla, and Netscape7.0 on PC. :-)
