  1. The latest version of WebCore. Jon Gruber already explained why it's reasonable for them not to use Web Kit, but I'm going to have to keep going back to Safari every time I encounter a page that won't work properly with the old renderer.

  2. Better autocompletion. This applies to both the address bar and to forms. In Safari, autocompletion is fast, inline, and based on your most recently entered strings. In OmniWeb, it seems to be sorta fast, but you have to manually select from a dropdown menu, and it isn't smart about what it suggests.

  3. In any case, it's still a great browser, and I'm glad that I paid for the 4.5 version to help speed along this current development.

Dear God, please, no, not inline autocomplete! I desperately wish I could turn off that wretched misfeature in Safari. Every time I'm typing a URL, Safari stupidly completes it to something that, 90% of the time, I don't want it completed to, so I have to delete the excess cruft before submitting it. The form of autocomplete where it doesn't do anything until you arrow down into the menu is far, far preferable. FAR, I say. Swearing at the browser often offends.

I'm sure now that Safari 1.2 is out, the new version of WebCore has made it on their to-do list. I think I remember hearing that it will be part of 5.1 which should be released shortly after the initial 5.0 release. I can't seem to find the e-mail that said that right now, though.

I can't say that I've seen your issues with auto-completion.

P.S. - Since these comments allow HTML formatting, it would be great if there was some sort of preview feature.
