I really dislike the tab drawer because it takes up far too much screen space. Regular window tabs are far less obtrusive and take up much less space.

Regular tabs do take up less square-pixels than OmniWeb's implementation. But, as I said in the article I feel that vertical resolution is more precious than horizontal. And there are other benefit's from Omni's implementation that you'll never get from standard tabs. Icons are very useful for instantly recognizing many web pages that would occupy the drawer, and for the times where that breaks down OmniWeb displays more of the pages' title than other browser's can when you get more than a few tabs loaded.

Furthermore, you can stretch the drawer, which resizes the icons, as well as shows you more of the page's title.

      But it's ... slow. Slow, slow, slow. ... on a 733G4 anyway.

On the plus side the beta is much faster than the alpha that I was running while writing the review. Hopefully, that trend will continue.
