Two thoughts: 1. Take a look at how you carry the phone and consider the possibility that the buttons may be frequently pressed inadvertantly (e.g., in a pants pocket). You may want to carry the phone differently to see if this is the case. 2. Try cycling the battery through a couple of complete discharges to see if that conditions the battery a bit. I.e., start with a full charge and let it go to zero.

  Toddogas (or anyone that can answer my question): Are you sure that this would work, it sounds like a good idea so I'm inclined to go along with it. Do you recommend doing this forever, or just the first few battery lives, say three or four times?
