"All that being said, in several years when the ideal superspecies of p2p have evolved and taken over the p2p world, my question is: what will have been standardized?"
XML and the concept of GROUPS.
Groups are the heart and soul of P2P. and XML will be Ubiquitous, therefore a necessary infrastructure. Adam Langley should see that JXTA isn't a product that just came out yesterday but it's probably a tad bit more of a long term project than what Bill Joy/Sun wants to reveal.
