That's just stupid. Sorry, without StarOffice / OpenOffice in the shape they are today (thanks be to Sun) there wouldn't be any point to any discussion about a push into the desktop area. Not now, not anytime soon. Munich, Largo FL, Burlington Industries, other public sector enterprises the world over plus thousands of United States government DoD desktops --forget about it. SO/OOo is why those stories exist. KDE / Gnome are NOT the killer app and are not the reason for these victories. |
