More than anything else, I personally feel that P2P, like many emerging technologies need to be encouraged in the hope of making Internet, what it is truly posed to be, a powerful communication medium.

Ooh aah-ing about the future of the concept when one doesn't understand the true value of the idea, is really being unfair to the tens and thousands of people who are aiming to make the Internet more powerful for normal usres like you and me.

I think this backlash was expected, as has been with allother Internet based concepts, but I think it will be interesting to see how the ideas mature into tangible products or services.
