a way to do this is to go into ichat av, if you have it, get everything setup, and then go into the video menu and press take snapshot. hope this helps,

  Make sure you expand your window to get closer to 640x480. Also remember that the iSight inverts the image horizontally so you look to yourself as you do in a mirror. Make sure you flip it back before publishing any new discoveries. :-)
