Installing content filtering and restrictive software is not simple. There is not a simple package that you can put on ANY system Windows/Linux or otherwise to protect your children from preditors or pornagraphy. We do need a book that helps non-technophiles protect their children. There is no need to cover topics like key-catchers or other invasive technology.

As to prying into our childrens' lives, I do think it is important for parent to be involved in their children's life. Helping them choose their friends and guiding their interests. I am not advocating draconian control over our children, but we do have a right and responsibility to know what they are doing so that we can protect ant teach them.
