You can make Finder previews look almost like a contact sheet by making the background color black, but then the text labels on the pictures are not visible.


I find the 50% grey color setting (use the Grey Scale Slider from the pop up menu in the color picking palette) to be ideal - a neutral balance of tone and color against which you can judge the exposure quality of the image at a glance.

    Using a gray background to help eyeball image exposure is a very helpful tip. I'm going to try it myself :)
