Subject:   /usr/bin/odbctest works, but Excel and Query don't?!

Did you install iODBC's drivers or are you using Apple's drivers. The problem is that Excel is a CFM app, while Apple's drivers are Mach-O libraries. The type are not compatiable, but the iODBC drivers handles the bridging between the two.

Hope that helps.

I 've just had exactly then same experience as aaanderson who posted above...I've has success in getting the odbctest utility working, but receive the same "ODBC is not installed on this system" message. Yes, I've installed the ODBC drivers that came with the Server Logistics package and haven't, so far as I'm aware, installed any of Apple's - not sure from the reply if Apple drivers are also necessary? Where do I get them if so (can't find anything by Googling) . FWIW, I'm definitely using the latest Office updates - can anyone help with this please?

I am having the exact same issue. After much trouble trying to get the ODBC drivers to work, I finally was able to use 'odbctest' to confirm my connection was working... only Excel X kept giving me an error about ODBC Not Installed... I reinstalled MS Query twice (to use a windows approach) and that didn't help either.

      any clue?

I'm running 10.3.3 with Dev Tools, mySQL 4.18 and the latest MyODBC drivers.
