Can anyone comment on making Password Authentication work with .htaccess files and OS X Server?


Comments in the .httpd.conf file suggest that the approach presented here is (or might be depending upon what's present?) overridden by the macosxserver.conf file.


I've got a working server, but presently, macosxserver.conf seems to be empty.

    Just to be clear: The web server is working and serving pages, but authentication is not.
