I was asked to post this clarification: "If you do update your article, it would be helpful if you would make it clear that this and other projects you mention in your O'Reilly article were in the Freenix track, which contains implementation papers but not research. Compare this to the technical track, which is peer-reviewed research selected by a program committee, and whose papers must meet the various criteria that qualify a work as research."
