in your article you make it like Jabber is centralized, like the other services--that's not entirely true. Anyone has the ability to run their own jabber server, as far as i understand, right? There are public ones available, but Jabber as an entity, doesn't own them at all.

This is a good point, j, definitely worth pointing out. On the other hand, a jabber identity is still owned by the domain name owner, while a Waste identity is owned by the holder of the private key.

That is completely true, I must say jabber is a great flexable tool.
