You've hit on something here - the structural/cultural/ethical/~/~ disconnect between the Engineer and the User is magnified and shown in the strange things people have to learn to do to communicate with each other using modern (post-modern?) technology. At the same time, the inherent bent-ness of human life embraces this chasm and people actually take pride of ownership in the wacky ways they adapt to a design ethic that serves millions of users, as opposed to just one. There is chaos under heaven, and the situation is excellent! ;-> -Bill
