When I said "web" I did mean to include those things you mentioned too, phones, etc. In Politically-Correct-W3C-Semantic-Web speak, the web's anywhere you can name with a URI. That easily covers my phone, P2P systems and network destinations. Your point is well made though. Some time soon I will venture to argue that the answer to your wishlist item number 4 is very much tied up with Semantic Web technologies. Just a little more hacking to do yet to prove my point... ;-)
