  In the real book, there's a box on page 351 that explains it all ;-). There wasn't room here to include it, so this would be one of those hints that was somewhat dependent on the book...
  
  That said, you can either just put the aliases in a .cshrc file in your home directory (not the book's method), or you need to create a directory structure like this:
  
  ~/Library/init/tcsh
  
  and then within tcsh, create the aliases.mine file...
