Just a comment on the "I'm Feeling Lucky " button. Is it really "a stroke of genius". I suspect it is the one bad feature of the Google page. I always suspected it to be a commercial con, and had to be told by someone what it was. I use it only 1 time in 100. I suspect most people do likewise. Is there any solid evidence available (Google must have it) on what proportion of users "feel lucky"?

And if Google lose the plot, there'll always be another search engine to replace it. Teoma's cool. Daypop is fun. New look av.com not bad either.
We all know the general principles upon which Google's success is based. Another PageRankTM-alike (cough!) search algorithm shouldn't be hard to develop. Then it's just a matter of booking a few server farms and paying the phone bill.
