I am a systems administrator who deals with Windows NT/2000 server and Linux(Debian). I switched to an ibook with OS X from a Thinkpad with WinXP because my job asks me to straddle a Unix and Windows platform and it is too frustrating to try to use a linux based laptop(I spend more time trying to install device drivers, configure interfaces and tweak settings than I spend working). It is nice to see a well supported commercial desktop Unix. I am pleased with the hardware support and I like the UI. I am especially pleased with the ease of porting traditional Unix software. I also enjoy being able to use some of the same applications that I have to support on the Windows Client side. All of this makes my computing experience easier to manage which allows me to take care of my actual job which is to manage and support the servers and networking equipment in our business.
