we got a MS Desktop kit to use for testing interference with 802.11b, and having done that I wanted to try it with my Mac. I pluged in the USB bluetooth AP, and couldn't tell it was there. no Bluetooth symbol in my System Preferences, etc. but when I moved it to my keyboard from my USB hub, I got the error message from the article, and was hopeful. I put it back in the hub and rebooted.
my Mac spent forever at the spinning circle on boot, but when it finally finished, I had Bluetooth in my system preferences and it's working -- my coworker with a palm Tungsten T was able to hotsync to my computer. I haven't figured out how to get the mouse or keyboard to work though (on Windows, they had special installers).
