Second, a proposal that's been languishing in my To Do file since, well, OSCON, is to get the footage of, say, the State of the Onion speech out (in any format we can) to local Perl Mongers groups? This is so necessary--it gives groups something to do for a first or reforming meeting, and there are lots of groups (Hi from Atlanta!) that could use such a pretext to get together.

It's also, I think, a perfect local fundraiser for The Perl Foundation--get together, watch Larry talk, and give him and the rest of the design team some money.

An extended version of this plan would be to parcel out other video items, not necessarily from OSCON, on, say, a quarterly basis and make the fundraising a regular, repeating event.
