After I first read the article It looks like agent-based modeling.
What is the difference between SwarmI and agent-based modeling ?
Is it just another name for the same thing ?

Notice, that one of the biggest agent modeling project is called swarm (www.swarm.org)

  • it looks like agent-based tech. A kind of agents

I see it as a kind of Agents. The logic of pheromone depositing in nodes is carried out by the agents (or active packets). So in my opinion not all agents are swarm, but swarm intelligence requires distributed intelligence moving around (agents)
