Installation of X11 and OpenOffice.org was just as described. The Applescript did not work but the X11 Terminal Application menu did. I opened Microsoft Office Excel and Word files without incident. Neither had significant formatting or other characteristics. I copied and pasted a column of calculations with the expected results. An IBM and Burroughs mainframe programmer, I'm looking forward to learning PC programming and participating in the X11 development community. |
