Absolutely. The main reason I used the full xsl:attribute syntax is so people can pick up any combination of tags/nodes/text or other XSL expressions. The previous poster does point out that there are plenty of neat shortcuts in XSLT. Once you get comfortable with the main syntax, you'll find the shortcuts very handy.
