I have been using and following Marketcircle's Daylite since early beta and they just keep improving it constantly. Before iCal there was Daylite. Yes it is intended for business, but I used it to track college projects, meetings, job contacts interviews and family events. These guys have raised the bar on how a PIM should look, be built and operate to benefit a wide range of users.
