I hope web designers take this to heart. My 56K dial-up in Guatemala City is my quick connection. When in the Ixcan (Quiche), I connect at 4.8 baud over a cellphone. Believe me I really hate spam and poorly designed web sites...If your content is good...it should still be good in text. At the very least, graphic heavy web sites should try to have a text alternative. NandoNews does well. Yahoo cancelled their text news....
