I have an early 17" PB G4 1mHz and am trying to set up a Jabra 250 headset to use with Skype. I have the newest upgrades (Bluetooth 1.5 and Firmware Updater 1.2) installed, but it still doesn't seem to work. When I use the Bluetooth Setup Assistant, it can find the phone, but when I press "Continue" I get the message, "Failed to set up the headset. Headsets are not supported on your Bluetooth hardware." Is it really a hardware question? Did Apple change the hardware at some point and, if so, is it possible to get an upgrade? I called Apple Support and they were less than helpful. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm sure you already know this, but Apple's Bluetooth 1.5 support headsets. It's available for download at apple.com

Sigh, I guess we are all still ahead of the curve when it comes to bluetooth. I just bought one of these cool headsets hoping it would work with ViaVoice and the new iChatAV but bummer, it does not work at all.

I am so disappointed. The good news might be that this product might work with a future windows laptop out of the box as in the manual it says that this device can be used with any computer whos software is Bluetooth 1.1 compliant. It says in the manual that this device _CAN_ be used as a wireless headset.

Maybe Apple will write a driver.

If anyone find info on how to make this work with the mac and iChatAV, please shoot me an email at:

    Thanks bunches!!!

I have been searching and unable to find any references to using a bluetooth headset with a mac or pc. I do see that there is a service called "voice gateway" but I cannot figure out how it would be enabled.

I would love to use my Mac as a "headphone" for my T68i.

Any thoughts or responses - me@toddl.com

I believe (according to Apple Discussion boards) that voice over bluetooth is not currently possible within OSX (10.2.4) so at present you won't be able to use your mac as a headphone for the T68.

I've paired my BT400 and OS X but there's no stock software that makes use of it that I can tell. It's not listed in input or audio devices. A little ahead of the technology curve from what I can tell.
