I am a Solaris/Linux/Windows/Open VMS user also using Mac OS X (primarily at home). A complete switch at home (which implies not using Linux/Windows) does not seem probable in the near future, but Mac OS X surely, has the makings.
Expensive Apple hardware will probably inhibit widespread acceptance.
