This occurred to me several weeks ago after looking at BlueJ again. What I figured out to do is write (as an instructor) a bootstrap class that will bootstrap any class by calling the default constructor. But again, this is not completely correct, because it just basically renames main() to MyClass().
I think BlueJ's approach is pretty solid.
