As a long time Mac power user (but not a hacker), Unix makes Mac relevant in a way it hasn't been since the Mac 128. I was really worried after buying my first OS X Mac that I had made a mistake. Drivers were just coming out and were feature poor and buggy; transferring my Outlook database from my employer's Windows machine was a nightmare. Then I discovered open source, and I'm a convert. The Mac will never again be a software orphan! And it harly ever crashes!
Furthermore, Unix has inherited the world's best desktop.
Microsoft should be terrified!
