Internet radio the P2P way has been a known phenomenon for at least two years with commercial implementations from companies like Chaincast Networks, BlueFalcon, and AllCast. Chaincast Networks (for example, operates the largest commercial P2P network and is rated No 3 by Arbitron (Arbitron provides listenership statistics for the majority of radio stations in the country). Several very large media companies, like Cox, Corus, Rogers, Zimmer, stream through ChainCast Networks at this time with tens of thousands active listeners. |
